Hey,

From October 21st to 28th, we’re collecting signatures in memory of Dr. Savita Halappanavar, who tragically passed away in Ireland in 2012 after being denied a life-saving abortion.

Savita, an Indian dentist, was so excited to start a family with her husband. It was her first pregnancy, and as her husband shared, "She was on top of the world. So happy and everything was going perfectly." But things took a heartbreaking turn. Savita started miscarrying and asked for an abortion, but doctors refused due to Ireland’s strict laws at the time. She died days later from sepsis. Her death sparked outrage and led to a major shift in Ireland’s abortion laws.

While Ireland has changed, over 20 million women in Europe are still facing the same struggles today. Many have to travel abroad and pay for the care that should be their right. We need to keep fighting for those who have suffered and died because of restrictive abortion laws.

Let’s honor Savita by standing up for women’s rights!
